Will Perry is an acclaimed British Paralympian. He made his international debut at the 2021 European Para swimming championships in Maderia. Very soon afterwards he qualified for the Tokyo 2020 (2021) Paralympic Games. He achieved a top 20 finish in all events and a final alongside his team in the 20pt Relay. Will has also competed in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and World Para swimming championships in Maderia.
Alongside his swimming achievements Will is a public speaker. He completed a TEDx talk in March 2022 with the title "Challenges of a Paralympian". This talk can be viewed on the main TED youtube channel and has over 37 thousand views. Will speaks frequently in schools, buisnesses, charity events and gatherings.
He has been trained proffesionally by the acclaimed public speaker Kimberly Davis on a 6 month programme. He has been trained to speak without notes and to follow a bespoke powerpoint. His main topics are the lifestyle of the modern Paralympian, a life with an induvidual with dwarfism, how to cope with failure, an elite lifestyle and how he lives a life where he is different to the 'norm' in society.
Will is in frequent contact with members of Parliment working on making a real difference in society and hopefully creating a more normal enviroment for people with dwarfism where society is fully engaged with the concept of dwarfism. This includes education to younger students which Will is hoping to achieve with speaking in schools.
