Shezad Nawab MBE is a deaf business enthusiast with an extraordinary flair for entrepreneurism. Born and bred in Birmingham, UK, he spent his childhood watching his father running a large and thriving Post Office branch, a supermarket, and some residential and commercial properties.
Reminiscing his early years, Shezad says, "I remember asking my father how to make my fortune. He told me that before you take your first step in building your business, you need to invest time and money in creating strong foundations." Shezad is fluent in British, Moroccan, South African, American and International sign languages. Owing to his entrepreneurial spirit, he has been helping new businesses and start-ups scale in the competitive stratosphere for 17 years. He was awarded as the Alumni of the Year 2017 in the field of Enterprise and Innovation and Ummul Mu’minin Khadijah Award for Excellence in Enterprise, 2018.
Moreover, he made it to the Honours list for business and diversity services as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the New Year 2017. He was also shortlisted for the Young Achiever of the Year award in 2016. In 2014, he was featured on the list of the top 10 Most Influential Disabled People in Business.
Apart from this, Shezad has the Business Initiative Award, 2011 and the Young Entrepreneur Award, 2011, and the Innovation Voucher, 2010 under his belt.
The inspirational entrepreneur also has a knack for wowing the audience as an international speaker. He knows the ins and outs of the business world and is capable of presenting information clearly and effectively. While he is the most passionate about promoting entrepreneurship in the UK, he works actively in the European and international markets.
