As a driving instructor, Diane was continually disappointed at the number of good drivers that failed their test due to nerves on the day, and was struck by the need for pupils to have an equal balance of competence and confidence. She researched different methods to conquer examination nerves, allowing students to perform with confidence under pressure. Her techniques are particularly useful for pupils with dyslexia and dyspraxia. Diane received an award from the Millennium Awards Trust for Social Entrepreneurs for her book L of a way 2 Pass which, in addition to receiving many 5* reviews on Amazon, has helped countless learner drivers to eliminate test day nerves, and is being used by driving instructors throughout the UK.
By using her winning formula, Diane is confident that stress, anxiety, worry, intimidation, frustration, embarrassment, anger and all other negative emotions will be a thing of the past, to be replaced with confidence, a sense of well-being and increased self esteem, for pupils and teachers alike.
Her fun, enjoyable and fully interactive student workshops will result in more positive behaviour, as they learn techniques to control their emotions, rather than their emotions controlling them. Understanding that we can ‘choose’ to talk ourselves into success or failure, the techniques will increase their ability to perform well not only in exams, but with increased confidence in every area of their school life, whether it be presenting in front of their class, being interviewed for college or university or increasing their self image and self esteem.
Diane firmly believes that happy staff equal happy pupils and vice versa. She says ‘Emotions affect everyone, every day of their lives and this is never more evident than in the teaching profession at present. Stress has increased exponentially with surprise Ofsted Inspections, classroom observations, new methods of teaching being introduced by management, and targets to be met, it’s not surprising the number of teachers taking time off work due to stress has increased, resulting in higher costs for use of supply teachers. My workshop offers the ultimate antidote to teacher stress!’
