In this fun filled enterprise day, pupils officially become part of the Xing Smoothie team and undertake an interactive marketing and product development task for the production of a new smoothie drink.The workshop will see students learn to put the five P's (place, product, promotion, price, people) into practice. Once they have completed their tasks they then have to present their new products to the dragons to scrutinise!
The Xing Smoothies enterprise day can be run as a one day or two day event.
One Day Smoothie Enterprise Challenge
We use videos to kick start each of the different tasks and our interactive Xing App is used throughout the day where all decisions the students make throughout the day are registered into the system. This will then run a simulation of running the business over a two month period to work out which team has earned the highest profits and therefore won the challenge.
There is also an interactive fruit stock market simulation in which students need to try and purchase/lock in their selected fruits at the lowest market value possible in a set time, in order to boost their overall profit margins.
All students make a smoothie as part of the day.
Two Day Smoothie Enterprise Challenge
This is an opportunity for students to go through a master class in business with the aim of selling or sampling their winning products within a trade fair scenario.
Teams will compete against each other learning different areas of business in order to put into place a marketing and business plan for selling a brand new smoothie. A series of fun activities and case studies are used to assist students in the build up to the final trade fair. Teams collate all information from their sessions to pitch and present their final ideas where only a limited number will go through to the final. Here they will bring their plan to life creating their own smoothie stall complete with marketing materials and sample or sell their products at the school trade smoothie trade fair.
Members of staff and other year groups will then be given an opportunity to visit the different stands, taste and vote which team deserves to be the overall winner.
